Today's Learners, Tomorrow's Leaders
At our thriving Sixth Form, students experience a structured environment that fosters both academic excellence and personal growth. The academic setting at LPGS facilitates a seamless transition from Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5 and onward to higher education, apprenticeships, or employment. Welcoming students not just from our Year 11 but also from Bromley, Croydon, Lewisham, and beyond, our Sixth Form is characterized by ambition and industry.
We take pride in offering a uniquely broad and balanced curriculum, featuring elective enrichment courses that complement students' primary programs of study. This approach encourages students to develop beyond standard examination curricula, preparing them to craft outstanding personal statements for UCAS and employment. Noteworthy offerings include a pre-medics course led by a former NHS trauma surgeon and the opportunity to complete the Extended Project Qualification.
Our commitment to independent learning is evident in its structured evolution throughout the two years, complemented by one-to-one tuition where needed. The exceptional results achieved by our students serve as a testament to the 'currency' they acquire to fulfilĀ their ambitions.
Knowing our students well is at the heart of our exceptional pastoral care. Beyond daily contact with form tutors, students have access to a network of support, including the Head of Year, Head of Key Stage, pastoral managers, academic support teachers, UCAS advisors, and the Senior Leadership Team. The inclusion team, complete with a full-time safeguarding officer and school counsellor, ensures a comprehensive support system.
Students choose LPGS not only for academic success and quality pastoral support but also for our values. Our inclusive ethos creates an environment where all students, irrespective of background or challenges, are empowered to achieve their potential. Open discussions on current affairs and encouragement for critical thinking contribute to students' understanding of their rights and responsibilities as global citizens.
Our student leadership program offers opportunities for active contributions to both the school and the wider community. Sixth Form students, recognized as ambassadors for their maturity, intelligence, and enthusiasm, actively engage in school life. This involvement, coupled with mandatory work experience in Year 12, enhances their personal development and employability.
Together, we ensure that each individual receives full support, and we take pride in the academic and personal progress our students make during their time with us. We firmly believe that they enter as learners and leave as leaders, equipped with the skills to succeed in their lives and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
